The Persian Gulf War ended almost as soon as it began — in under four weeks. In a series of three Michtovim Kloliyim — public letters — that were written by the Rebbe in honor of Pesach that year, the Rebbe wrote on the topic of miracles.
There is a prevalent practice in many places that children perform a “Purim shpiel” in which the entire story of the Megilla is staged. In it, an actor plays the role of Mordechai, Ester, Charovona, etc. The play requires an actor to fill the role of “Haman” as well.
“Action is the main thing,” the Rebbe always emphasizes. Perhaps, the most important aspect of living in Moshiach times, is to “live with Moshiach,” i.e., upping our avoda to a redeemed and Moshiach’dike quality.

If the “pomegranates” adorning the hem of the m’il of the Kohen Gadol are (not functional per se but) intended for bringing out beauty, the virtues of the Jewish people, we must not emphasize the quality alluded to by pomegranates (“the empty among you are full with Mitzvos as a pomegranate”) but the inner virtue of a Jew, the fact that every Jew is like a “golden apple” (solid gold, not empty or vacuous, G-d forbid). * The inner quality of a Jew in the light of the commentary of Ramban.
How is it appropriate to include in the description of the Messianic Era the concept that “delicacies will be commonly available, like dust”? Delicacies are things that are connected with the body viewed in its most despicable capacity, “the skin of a snake”!
Lacking the strength and fortitude to face the suffering of chevlei Moshiach, most Sages were willing to forgo being a part of the onset of the Messianic Era. Rav Yosef, however, was different
