Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, Mara D’Asra and member of the Badatz of Crown Heights, has been producing a daily video, for the past year, with a practical halacha. * The video is one minute long and can be heard on the phone, watched on an Internet site, or can be subscribed to and received via email. * There is a weekly brochure with the halachos and detailed sources. * We spoke with R’ Braun and his production team about the behind the scenes of this fantastic initiative.
We have mentioned many times in this column the directive of the Rebbe (Tazria Metzora 5751) to learn about Moshiach and Geula. The Rebbe said that this learning is the direct path to bring Moshiach. The Rebbe encouraged that – in addition to everyone learning this subject in-depth privately – there should be public classes (at least 10 participants) as well.
This past Lag B’Omer, as in recent years, the Igros Kodesh tent was in operation in Miron on the hill leading to the holy tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, manned by T’mimim from the Chabad yeshiva in Tzfas. They greeted the throngs who wanted to write to the Rebbe and receive his advice and holy blessings. We bring here five miraculous stories from among many that were experienced on this auspicious occasion.
R’ Sholom Feldman a”h merited to receive so much from the Chassidim of the previous generation. With his prodigious talents, he knew how to transmit the sweetness of Chassidus to young people. * Along with his job running the Yad HaChamisha print shop in Kfar Chabad, he served as a mashpia. * A glimpse into the life of a Chassid who was one of the first bachurim from Eretz Yisroel to travel and learn in the Rebbe’s court.
All agree that ten weeks of summer vacation is too much. What can be done so that the Chassidishe chinuch our children receive the rest of the year does not go down the drain at this time?
Balak, the king of the Moabite nation, saw the approaching Jewish nation on its way to conquer the land of Canaan. They had just defeated the two mighty kings Sichon and Og, whom Balak relied upon as a first line of defense against an enemy conqueror. Now he feared they were poised to conquer his nation as well.
Yossi just came back home from a shiur at the Chabad House and was relaxing in a comfortable armchair in the living room. His gaze wandered from the spacious living room toward the well-equipped kitchen and rested on the beautiful glass-fronted display cabinet in the corner. “Ahhh,” he said to himself. “Everything worked out perfectly, according to plan.”
