c) Kareis, soul excision, is the punishment for [serious transgressions, such as] idolatry and the like. Our Sages say about kareis, quoting the verse, “‘Hikareis tikareis ha’nefesh, etc. – that soul shall surely be cut off, etc.’:

The Torah exhorts us to pursue justice. Towards that end, the Torah commands us to appoint judges and officers in all of our cities. That general exhortation is followed by a more specific one: “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof (you shall surely pursue righteousness).”

On the way, you can help yourself to a cold drink, listen to Chabad niggunim, Tefillas HaDerech, and a reminder to count the omer, and even sell your chametz! And of course, you would hear his usual prayer, “May we merit to change our route since Moshiach will come and we will drive directly to the Beis HaMikdash.”
The Rebbe MH”M asks of us to bring about a revolution of consciousness, transforming us from galus people to Geula people, but it’s not easy. The Rebbe said it’s difficult to instill the awareness that we are on the verge of Yemos HaMoshiach so that we start living Inyanei Moshiach and Geula. * The Rebbe’s solution is to start learning about it.
