They will all go Eretz Yisroel along with all the righteous Jews and the leaders of the Jewish people, as well as all Jews of the preceding generations (“Your nation is entirely righteous”), for “those who dwell in the dust will get up and sing,” together with all the Jewish people of this generation, [living people] souls in bodies, without any interruption [of loss of life] in between.
This union of body and soul finds further expression in the eternal life of the Future Era. (What is unique about the present times, our generation, is that there will be no interruption [no death separating the finite life of this world from the everlasting life of the World to Come]).
It is indeed within the power and capacity of each and every person to purify the Jews he encounters. Thus, it is also each person’s responsibility to do so. It follows then that one’s influence upon another is on account of the power of Moshe.
The Rebbe said that the Rebbe Rayatz’s sichos just prior to Yud Shvat 5710 were meant to provide us with a message as to how to understand the events that were to follow. * In the most recent sichos of 5751- 5752, the Rebbe reiterates in an unprecedented way that there will be eternal life as a soul in a body without any interruption (i.e., the Rebbe will live on forever without the need to experience histalkus).
Uplifting the world in this way is in virtue of “Beis Rabbeinu,” located in the Lower Hemisphere. Beis Rabbeinu is the place from which light shines forth to the rest of the world.
Each of us has a “barrel” that weighs heavily on his heart and that doesn’t allow him to be joyful. If we want to get rid of it, we need to arouse joy from a place where it does not depend on anything, but exudes from our very being. Through this joy, we will be able to remove the “barrel” and bring in the Geula.
“Who is greater and whose ideal is superior – Avraham or Moshiach? Is it Avraham, whose kindness and tz’daka are the catalysts that bring about the Messianic Age? Avraham is the very source and impetus for the entire process of making this world a “Dwelling Place for G-d,” which will be fully realized in the Messianic Age. Without Avraham’s initiative there would be no process. Or perhaps Moshiach is superior, because he represents the culmination of that process and the ushering in of a new world order of Divine revelation with all of its attendant benefits such as world peace.”
Jews always have the power to withstand exile. Even when the will of a Jew in matters of holiness and Torah and Mitzvos is sometimes concealed, his true desire is to fulfill G-d’s will.
“We want Moshiach now!” is a declaration, originally part of a song sung by children at summer camps, and endorsed and popularized by the Rebbe. In this refrain we give expression to our most heartfelt desire to see the unfolding of the Messianic Age through our righteous Moshiach.
The leader of the generation – the nasi, meaning hisnas’us, uplifting – lifts up the entire generation, for “the nasi, the leader, is everything.”
When you ask R’ Yitzchok Weintraub what motivates him, he laughs and says he doesn’t know because he never thought about it. He says, “I always ask myself the opposite question. How is it that everybody isn’t doing it? How is it that Purim comes or Lag B’Omer and we don’t see everyone running to find where they can make a parade, where they can arrange a Megilla reading?”
“Bringing Geula to the world” sounds like too big a job, but the formula is pretty basic and quite simple: Connection. Connecting between the mind and the heart, between the neshama and ourselves, between G-dliness and the world. Adding to the perfection of the number eleven that exists in terms of the month (the moon, the lesser luminary), this transition contributes the perfection of eleven in terms of the day (sun, the great luminary) as well – eleven in its purity. * The ascent begins with the leader of the generation (baal ha’hilula), and in virtue of him, the entire generation is uplifted (“the body follows the head”).
