NO CHOICE BUT TO BE A CHASSID
Since he has a connection with the Rebbe, he is compelled to behave as a chassid. * There is no alternative. One must fulfill the directives of the leader of the generation!

At first glance it is difficult to understand how the narrative of the production of the covers of the Sanctuary, which were spun from goat hair, is relevant to us. This was strictly a onetime activity necessary for the construction of the Sanctuary in the desert. It is something that is not even applicable to the Third Holy Temple (which won’t need to be fashioned on our part at all, for “it is built and stands ready, etc.”). * These wise women devoted their talents to making G-d’s Sanctuary notwithstanding the fact that it was within their capacity to utilize their special talents for their personal concerns instead…
Beis Moshiach presents a translation of a poignant and electrifying sicha delivered by the Rebbe Rayatz in the year 1941. Beginning with a detailed account of the story of Purim, the Rebbe addressed the crisis facing the Jewish nation in his time. * Originally said and published 70 years ago, the sicha is uncannily relevant to our times.
One of the major achievements of the Messianic Age is that, as we say in our prayers, we will observe the Mitzvos “in accordance with Your will.” What does that mean? Surely we perform many of the Mitzvos properly even today.
The suffering of all Jews is the suffering of Moshiach. And not only in matters that for Moshiach they are considered suffering but matters of concern to simple Jews, their suffering. For there are indeed such people who have no connection to spirituality, and their only concerns are things that are seen, physically. There must be solidarity with them as well, in their particular state and condition.
Moshiach represents the introduction of a revolutionary measure of G-dly light and goodness into the world. It is called “the Shabbat of existence.” It is the ultimate manifestation of blessing that will engulf the world, bringing perpetual goodness, holiness and peace in its wake. However, to be receptive to the phenomenal blessing of Moshiach we need peace and unity that is based on genuine Ahavat Yisroel.
It was the month of Adar and Purim was approaching. The Rebbe Rayatz planned on farbrenging and the Chassidim in Milwaukee wanted permission to bring mashke despite Prohibition, which made alcoholic beverages illegal throughout the United States. The Rebbe refused and warmed them with his words instead. * A description of the Rebbe Rayatz in Milwaukee in 5690.
If we are guilty of creating our own “golden calves” it is because we are products of millennia of exile. And it is only by virtue of G-d’s “great power and strong hand” that we have survived at all. Therefore, we respectfully “demand” of G-d that He take us out of exile by simultaneously taking the exile out of us and keeping the promise He made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to bring us back to our land with the true and complete redemption, now!
For 9 Adar, the day the Rebbe Rayatz came to the “lower hemisphere” in 1940, we present another chapter from the stories Chassidim tell about the Rebbe Rayatz. * From the notes of R’ Avrohom Weingarten a”h, l’ilui nishmas his son R’ Matisyahu Aryeh Leib, Hy”d
As we prepare our souls for the coming of Moshiach at which time we will see G-d’s glory without any screen or filter, it is our task to come before Him with a pure soul. By taking our “olive oil” and bringing it to Moshiach, the Moses of our generation, by following in his pure and holy ways that are untainted by the exile mindset, we are guaranteed that our souls will indeed be purified. And when we will stand before G-d in the third Temple we will not be embarrassed because at that time our souls will radiate the purest of light.
Shemi Rokeach is a Belzer Chassid on his father’s side but is from the glorious Schneerson family on his mother’s side. Thanks to this, he had an unusual relationship with Beis Rebbi. * In honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka’s birthday on 25 Adar II, we present special memories of the Rebbetzin whom Shemi visited dozens of times and with whom he spoke by phone every Friday!
A compilation of thoughts and stories about the Rebbe Rashab to mark his histalkus on Beis Nissan. * “Now, in the time of Exile, are the days of avoda, to prepare for the coming of Moshiach.”
In honor of Yud-Alef Nissan that year, I decided to send the Rebbe the most beautiful notebooks. I told the girls about this and the competition was fierce. All the girls worked hard to make their notebook the most attractive. Excitement ran high – they were sending a gift to the Rebbe!
