Although the Jews still remained subjects of the Persian Empire, the Purim miracle serves as the catalyst in exile for the unleashing of the ultimate Redemption when we will see the fulfillment of King Solomon’s declaration, “A woman of valor is the crown of her husband” through the feminine quality which will unleash the full revelation of the infinite Messianic G-dly light.
Eli, dressed as Mordechai, begins: “What is happening here in Shushan? Haman has just convinced Achashverosh to let him send out a decree to destroy the Jews r”l. Nothing happens down here without being decreed above. So if I analyze the situation down here and apply it up there, maybe I’ll know what’s doing up there and apply it down here, so that up there and down here the decree will be annulled.

The President of Israel, Mr. Shneur Zalman Rubashov (Shazar), visited the Rebbe on Purim 5731/1971. He was present for the Megilla reading, followed by a lengthy private audience. The entire event was simultaneously regal and congenial, both festive and somber, and made a deep impression on all present.
The doctor who had treated him was invited to his bar mitzva. He described the hours when none of them believed he would survive, but G-d willed otherwise and he received his life as a gift. The gentile fireman who brought Pesachya out of the burning house was also invited. He was asked to speak but he declined, saying that it was not he who had saved the child but the Rebbe.
The Sages say that when you find yourself in an era where everything seems absurd, you should anticipate the arrival of Moshiach. Because that’s what Moshiach is all about – lifting the veils and revealing the true intent behind the facade.
How does one summon such arrogance and self-indulgence to say that when the Jewish people need to be saved from exile, all the Jewish people remain as they are for a moment while the redemption begins to unfold for this individual?! * The entire world was indeed created for the individual Jew, to the extent that “G-d stands with him.” Thus, the redemption first unfolds for him.
Mordechai was a chassid. Indeed, it was he who established the “obligation to celebrate on Purim ad d’lo yada.” Who would come up with the idea of “ad d’lo yada,” for all future generations, if not a chassid?!
Beis Moshiach presents a translation of a poignant and electrifying sicha delivered by the Rebbe Rayatz in the year 1941. Beginning with a detailed account of the story of Purim, the Rebbe addressed the crisis facing the Jewish nation in his time. * Originally said and published 70 years ago, the sicha is uncannily relevant to our times.
