A RELATIVE AND TRUE CHASSID OF THE REBBE

It was a long journey from Mizrachi to Chabad. The fire of Chassidus burned in his heart for many years, but he was prevented from realizing his ambition of learning in Tomchei T’mimim. Over the years, he corresponded with the Rebbe; after his wedding, the Rebbe designated a shlichus for him in Mevo Choron, a communal yishuv belonging to Pagi (Poalei Agudas Yisroel). * This is the story of R’ Elisha Avni a”h, a shliach who energetically promoted the teachings of Toras HaChassidus for over thirty years and who passed away a few days before Pesach.

MAN OF FAITH, MAN OF ACTION

We were shocked to hear of the passing of R’ Zushe Rivkin a”h, one of the more outstanding personalities amongst Lubavitcher Chassidim, who merited many kiruvim from the Rebbe and was a walking torch of fiery emuna in the coming of Moshiach and the hisgalus of the Rebbe MH”M. His entire life was dedicated to tz’daka and g’milus chassadim along with instilling and spreading faith in the Geula. As far as he was concerned, the high point of all his life’s work was his efforts to build a palace for the Rebbe.

SPREADING THE REBBE’S LIGHT AND JOY

R’ Ami Pykovski is a familiar figure in the world of Chabad. * He enjoyed rare kiruvim from the Rebbe that stunned even him. * In return, he has dedicated his energies to the Rebbe’s inyanim, especially in spreading the word about the impending Redemption and the Redeemer. * This is a profile of a Chassid who never rests…

A CHASSID WHO MAKES CHASSIDIM

How do you turn a mekurav into a Chassid? We asked Rabbi Pinchas Pachter, one of the founders of the spiritual revolution in Paris, who inspired hundreds of young people to become baalei t’shuva, some of whom have become rabbanim and shluchim around the world. * In this interview with R’ Shneur Chaviv of “Beis Moshiach,” R’ Pachter shares kiruvim and answers he received from the Rebbe, speaks about competition between organizations, working within and outside the ranks of officialdom, and addresses whether a shliach needs to be a lamdan.

FROM SOUL-SEARCHING TO THE SOUL-STIRRING MUSIC OF THE ALTER REBBE

Nadav Becher traveled to the Far East, visited ashrams, and studied just about every form of mysticism. He studied Indian music and listened to the utter silence on the Thai islands. None of these experiences truly touched him until he learned a maamer of the Alter Rebbe. For the first time in his life, he felt that someone truly understood him, that someone was speaking directly to him. * He abandoned a musical career and a spot in a top Israeli band and today he is a Chassidishe “baal menagen” who presents niggunim of the Alter Rebbe to the public.
