WHAT WILL YOU DAVEN FOR THIS ROSH HA'SHANA?

We are currently in the last few days of the month of Elul. It is the month that the “king is in the field” and we can approach and ask for whatever we want. It is at this point that we must always realize what our priorities are.

MINCHA & GEULA

The Rebbe writes in the HaYom Yom 24 Elul: “There was a time when every word that one heard was a teaching, and every event that one saw was a directive for one’s Divine service and personal guidance.” This is true regarding anything we hear or see; how much more so for a chassidic teaching or saying that we learn or hear.

WHAT KIND OF AIR ARE YOUR CHILDREN BREATHING

In the HaYom Yom for 12 Tammuz, the birthday and Chag HaGeula of the Frierdike Rebbe, the Rebbe quotes a letter of the Frierdike Rebbe. The letter was originally written for 12 Tammuz 5692, for the fifth annual celebration of the Geula.

IT’S ABOUT TIME

[It is written:] ‘A man’s steps are made firm by G‑d.’ When a Jew arrives at a particular place, this is for the purpose of doing a mitzvah, be it a mitzvah between man and man, or between man and G‑d. A Jew is an agent of [G‑d] Above, and wherever an agent is, he derives his power from the Sender. The superiority of souls over angels [in this regard] lies in the fact that [G‑d confers His agency to] the souls through the Torah.”

A RESOLUTION PROPOSAL FOR GIMMEL TAMMUZ

Gimmel Tammuz. These two words bring out deep emotional reactions from Chassidim. While the reactions may seem different, and many follow different customs on this holy day, they really all revolve around the same core theme: Hiskashrus to our Rebbe.

WHAT’S YOUR CHASSIDIC ID?

On Shavuos, we commemorated the yahrtzait of the Baal Shem Tov, the founder of Chassidus. Many speak about the revolution that the teachings of Chassidus brought to the Jew’s service of Hashem. Today we will focus on another aspect of the revolution: Reviving the concept of Negina/song in Avodas Hashem.
