The Rebbe referred to the double Adars as “Sixty Days of Simcha.” We spoke with R’ Kuti Rapp, director of the Matteh Shira V’Zimra, who organizes joyous dancing every night of Adar in 770. We heard about the connection between simcha and bringing the Geula and what happened behind the scenes with the singing of Yechi on Rosh Chodesh Kislev 5753. * A happy interview.
“Moses gathered the whole community of the children of Israel and he said to them, ‘These are the things that G-d commanded to be done.’” The Torah then enumerates two things that G-d commanded: Shabbos and the building of the Mishkan, the portable Sanctuary… “These are the things that G-d commanded,” implied that these were the only things G-d commanded. How could that be, considering the fact that all 613 commandments were given at Mount Sinai, not only Shabbos and the construction of the Mishkan?

In recent years a world war has been raging between the pure neshamos of our children and the enticements of the Internet, the computer screen, and the Smartphone. Parents are not always aware of the extent of the problem. He handed me another dollar as he said, ‘This is for Ireland.’ I was positively thunderstruck. “We have five daughters, boruch Hashem, but we have been praying for a son for many years,” said Mrs. Cohen from Migdal HaEmek to her neighbor Mrs. Penina Levy. “We’ve been to everyone. My husband and I went to great rabbis and kabbalists and asked for a bracha. They all prayed and even made promises, but we still do not have a son.”
The number-two man in the re-born National Religious Party joined the coalition, claiming that he would be its nationalist gauge. In the meantime, while Uri Ariel is the Minister of Housing and Construction, nothing is being built in Yerushalayim. He was recently forced to admit and confirm that even in Yehuda and Shomron, things are not so rosy.
In the HaYom Yom entry for 20 Cheshvan, the Rebbe says that each of the shluchim are given special abilities from the one who sent them, and what is expected of them is that they use these kochos properly to illuminate their place of shlichus with the light of Torah, mitzvos and Chassidus. I asked some shluchim what special kochos they use and to share some stories of the actual results.
