A CLEAN SLATE
The perennial struggle of the Jewish nation originated with the struggle our forefather Jacob had with his brother Esau even before they were born.

It is fifty years since the start of the Rebbe’s Torah revolution in learning the simple meaning of the Torah text with Rashi’s commentary. * After in-depth research, including interviews with R’ Tuvia Blau, author of Klalei Rashi, R’ Leibel Groner, the Rebbe’s secretary, and R’ Nachman Schapiro, member of the Vaad L’Hafatzos Sichos, a picture emerged of an amazing era in the course of which the Rebbe revealed not only a new method in the study of Rashi but also changed the nature of farbrengens and revealed new dimensions in the bond between Rebbe and Chassidim. * Part 1
Our reporter Yaron Tzvi met with R’ Yaakov Dovid Cohen, a Lubavitcher Chassid who is a familiar figure in the corridors of the United Nations building. He articulately conveys the Rebbe’s message about the Seven Noachide Laws. * A one-man public relations machine: a television program with a million viewers a week, an Internet site, a Facebook page, a few documentaries and a book that has been translated into English, Chinese and Korean. * An ambassador at the UN.
With the atmosphere of incredible tension during recent weeks and in light of the four terrible murders, there’s also something that we can do. As we demand the nation’s security forces to answer with all their strength against the terrorist menace, we in turn must respond by adding more light. This is the only retaliation we can bring against the forces of evil and darkness working against us. They cut life short while we kindle light and ignite new life.
“Did you hear who wants to visit our class?” Moishy asked, as he excitedly waved his hands around. At this, the boys gathered round him and he continued. “Do you remember old Sholom from the print shop, the one that Berele wrote about in the Tzivos Hashem column? I heard from Berele that he is planning on visiting our class!”
The advantage of the feminine aspect is underscored by the order of the four Imahos of the Shvatim, spelling out the acronym “barzel.” * All together we go to our Holy Land, “a land of wheat, barley, grape, and fig, pomegranate, a land of olive oil and date honey,” “a land whose stones are barzel, iron.”
The involvement of shluchim in the two tragedies that recently befell Israeli backpackers stood out among the many reports in the Israeli and worldwide media. * Now, after the finding of the final body and the transport of all the injured and the return home of the search and rescue teams, Beis Moshiach spoke with the shluchim in the area and heard moving stories. * Material and spiritual rescue.
In honor of 20 Cheshvan, the birthday of the Rebbe Rashab, the founder of Tomchei T’mimim, I am happy to introduce our new series of articles: Chinuch of Yemos HaMoshiach.
Nissim Keinan, a reporter for Reshet Bet (Channel B) Radio, tells of miracles that he witnessed and also about a personal miracle he experienced. He is not ashamed to proclaim, “It’s a miracle!”
The man who shocked many people who never dreamed that the photographer for HaAretz and Yisroel HaYom would become a Chabad Chassid surprised us too with his incredible story. * Kobi Kalmanowitz, photographer for magazines who dreams about being on the team of photographers at the Beis HaMikdash is convinced, “At first they will need photographers. Think about what it’s like to reach billions of people.”
The first marriage recorded in the Torah, that between the Patriarch Yitzchak and the Matriarch Rivka, takes place in this week’s parsha. The Torah devotes a multitude of verses to describe the way Eliezer, Abraham’s trusted servant, discovered, tested and then brought Rivka back home to wed Yitzchak.
From the life of R’ Yehoshua Shneur Zalman Serebryanski a”h
The life of the Chassid R’ Chaim Bentzion Raskin a”h was devoted to the pure chinuch of his children to Torah, yiras Shamayim and Chassidus, despite the strong winds of haskala and communism that blew outside his home. Sometimes, he cried about it and sometimes he proudly raised the banner for the battle for the pure chinuch of Jewish children. * Today, hundreds of his descendants are on the path he so desired, with many of them serving as shluchim and working for the pure and kosher chinuch of thousands of children.
